The LIONBEAM lb-hdmi-exthd1 is an HDMI extender that transmits a 1080p HDMI signal over a single CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 cable at distances up to 394 feet (120 meters). It uses HDbitT over IP technology to maintain signal integrity across long cable runs. The kit includes a transmitter and receiver unit. IR pass-back allows the HDMI source device to be controlled from the remote receiver location. Power over Cable (PoC) support means the receiver can draw power directly from the transmitter through the same CAT-X cable, eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the remote end.
This extender is suited for commercial and professional AV installations where a display or monitor must be placed far from the HDMI source. Typical applications include digital signage, video conferencing systems, educational environments, and production or broadcast setups. Bidirectional RS232 support expands control options for installations that use RS232-based automation or device management systems. It is installed by AV integrators, IT technicians, and low-voltage contractors working on structured cabling projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use HDMI extender compatible with HDMI source devices and displays supporting 1080p output over CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 structured cabling.
Installation is typically performed by a low-voltage contractor or AV integrator familiar with structured cabling standards. Power down all source and display equipment before connecting or disconnecting the transmitter and receiver units. Verify that the CAT5e or CAT6 cable run does not exceed 394 feet and is free of sharp bends, splices, or patch panel connections that could degrade signal quality. If PoC is used, confirm the transmitter power supply is rated to support both units before eliminating the remote power source.
