The LINCOLN MV5530 is an 11-piece dial-type engine compression test kit designed for gasoline engines including motorcycles, marine applications, and small engines. The kit centers on a 2.75-inch (70 mm) large-diameter dial gauge with a 300 PSI maximum pressure rating, giving technicians a clear, easy-to-read display during compression testing. A manual pressure release valve and quick-disconnect coupler are built in for efficient, repeatable testing. The custom blow-molded case keeps all 11 components organized and protected between jobs. This kit is intended for professional technicians and knowledgeable DIYers performing engine diagnostics on gasoline-powered equipment. Note: this kit is not rated for use on diesel engines.
The MV5530 is suited for compression testing across a wide range of gasoline engine applications. The included thread adapters cover 10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, and 18 mm spark plug ports, making the kit compatible with small engines, motorcycles, and marine powerheads. The quick-disconnect coupler speeds up adapter changes when testing multi-cylinder engines. An air-hold adapter (sold separately) can also be used with this kit for cylinder leak-down checks. The blow-molded storage case makes the kit practical for shop use or field service.
Designed for compression testing on gasoline-powered engines including motorcycles, marine engines, and small engines. Compatible with air-hold adapters for cylinder leak-down testing. Not for use on diesel engines.
Compression testing should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with engine diagnostic procedures. Disable the ignition system and fuel supply before removing spark plugs to prevent accidental engine start. Thread adapters should be hand-tightened into spark plug ports to avoid thread damage. Always release residual pressure using the manual release valve before disconnecting the gauge from the adapter.
