The LEVITON TELCOM 6AS10-10R is a Category 6a slim patch cord designed for structured cabling installations in commercial and industrial network environments. Built to Cat6a performance standards, this patch cord supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet and is finished in red for easy visual identification and cable management. The slim form factor reduces cable bundle diameter compared to standard Cat6a cables, making it well suited for high-density patch panel installations where airflow and cable organization are critical. Licensed network technicians and low-voltage cabling contractors are the primary installers of this type of patch cord.
This patch cord is used in data centers, server rooms, telecommunications closets, and structured cabling systems where Cat6a performance is required. The red jacket color is commonly used to designate specific VLANs, network segments, or security zones according to site-specific cable management standards. Its slim jacket construction is particularly useful in high-density patch panels and switch port environments where space between ports is limited.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard patch cord for Cat6a keystone jacks, patch panels, and RJ45 switch ports in structured cabling systems.
Installation is performed by low-voltage cabling technicians or qualified IT infrastructure professionals. No tools are required for termination as this is a factory-terminated patch cord. Follow TIA-568 and site-specific structured cabling standards when routing and dressing cables. Do not exceed the minimum bend radius of the cable during installation, as overbending can degrade signal performance at 10GbE frequencies.
