The LEVITON 5601-2W is a single-pole AC quiet rocker switch rated for 15 amps at 120/277 volts, designed for residential-grade general lighting and load control applications. Built on a thermoplastic frame, it features a smooth, low-profile Decora rocker profile that operates quietly and resists dust intrusion through an integrated switch frame shield. Licensed electricians and skilled DIYers install this switch as a standard single-pole replacement or new-construction wiring device. It accepts both terminal screw connections and Quickwire push-in terminals, making field wiring straightforward.
This switch is suited for single-pole switching of tungsten, fluorescent, and resistive loads in residential and light commercial installations. At 120 volts it covers standard household branch circuits, while the 277-volt rating extends its use to commercial fluorescent lighting circuits. Motor loads are supported at 80 percent of the switch rating. The Decora rocker style requires a Decora-compatible wallplate, which is sold separately. It is finished in white to coordinate with standard device plates and trim.

Quiet rocker operation with thermoplastic construction for long service life
Dual voltage rating (120/277 volts) supports both residential and commercial fluorescent lighting circuits
Grounding provided; residential grade construction
Compatibility
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation single-pole rocker switch for standard residential and light commercial electrical wiring applications requiring a Decora-style device.
Installation Notes
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Always shut off and lock out the branch circuit breaker before removing the existing switch or making any wiring connections. Verify the correct conductor gauge before selecting terminal screw or push-in wiring method, as push-in terminals accept No. 14 AWG solid copper only. Wallplate is not included and must be ordered separately.
