The LEVITON 47621-cms is an infrared repeater system designed to extend and distribute IR control signals throughout a structured wiring environment. It accepts two power leads as inputs and provides four signal leads as outputs, allowing a single IR source to drive multiple IR emitters or zones. Installers use this unit to eliminate line-of-sight limitations when controlling AV components housed in closets, equipment racks, or enclosures away from the primary viewing or control area. It is typically installed by low-voltage technicians during rough-in or finish-out of structured media systems.
The 47621-cms is suited for residential structured media installations where centralized AV distribution is required. It integrates with the LIN Integrated Network and Structured Media platforms, as well as Home Security Monitoring environments. Common applications include whole-home AV distribution systems where IR commands must be routed from a remote receiver to equipment located in a central distribution enclosure or media center.
Compatible with LIN Integrated Network, Structured Media, and Home Security Monitoring systems as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by a licensed low-voltage or structured wiring technician. Power down the structured media enclosure or disconnect the relevant power supply before connecting or reconfiguring leads. Verify IR emitter placement at the target equipment to ensure reliable signal pickup. Follow local low-voltage wiring codes and any applicable structured wiring standards for routing and termination.
