The LESSO UV407-131 is a Schedule 40 PVC 90-degree elbow fitting with a 1-inch socket (slip) inlet and a 3/4-inch threaded (FPT) outlet. This UV-resistant fitting is designed to redirect flow at a right angle in cold- and hot-water distribution, irrigation, and general plumbing systems. The solvent-weld socket end accepts standard Schedule 40 PVC pipe, while the threaded end connects directly to female-threaded fittings or valves. Its UV-resistant formulation makes it suitable for above-ground and exposed outdoor installations where sunlight degradation is a concern. Plumbers and irrigation contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
This elbow is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, pool and spa circulation lines, lawn irrigation systems, and other Schedule 40 PVC piping applications where a reducing 90-degree directional change is needed. The combination of a socket inlet and a threaded outlet allows transition between solvent-weld and threaded pipe assemblies in a single fitting, which is common in valve stations, backflow preventer installations, and equipment connection points.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using 1-inch socket connections on the inlet and 3/4-inch female-threaded connections on the outlet.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified irrigation technicians. Shut off system water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or disassembling any pipe section. The socket end requires approved PVC primer and solvent cement applied per ASTM D2564 and local plumbing code; allow full cure time before restoring pressure. The threaded end should be sealed with PTFE tape or thread sealant and hand-tightened before applying a final one-to-two turns with a strap wrench — avoid over-torquing PVC threads.
