The LEGRAND PS40-MBBL is a single-pole, male cam type inline connector rated for 400 amperes and 600 VAC/DC. It is designed for temporary and permanent power distribution in high-demand environments where reliable, heavy-duty electrical connections are required. The connector features a thermoplastic elastomer housing that resists impact, chemicals, and environmental exposure, maintaining NEMA 3R and NEMA 4 enclosure integrity. Brass contacts and heavy-duty hex set screws ensure consistent conductivity and secure termination torque. Licensed electricians and power distribution technicians install this type of connector in portable power systems, stage and event electrical rigs, and industrial distribution setups.
The PS40-MBBL accepts cable sizes from 2/0 to 4/0 AWG and is suited for single-pole applications across a wide range of industries including movie and entertainment production, stage production, fairs and carnivals, theme parks, concert venues, arenas and convention centers, mining and construction sites, shipping facilities, and airports. The blue insulator color follows standard cam connector color-coding conventions for quick visual identification in multi-circuit power distribution setups. Temperature performance is rated from -40 to 75 degrees C, making it viable for both cold-weather outdoor events and warm industrial environments.
Designed as an OEM-style single-pole cam connector for use in 400A, 600V portable and permanent power distribution systems. Compatible with standard cam connector accessories and mating female cam devices accepting 2/0 to 4/0 AWG cable in single-pole configurations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the power source before terminating or disconnecting cam connectors. Use the appropriate hex key for the set screws to ensure proper cable termination torque and secure seating of wire strands. Verify that cable size falls within the 2/0 to 4/0 AWG range before assembly to maintain rating integrity.
