The LEGRAND 7580 is a duplex locking receptacle rated at 15 amperes at 125 volts and 10 amperes at 250 volts, designed for non-NEMA locking configurations in commercial and industrial electrical installations. Built from impact-resistant nylon, the face and body are ultrasonically welded together for structural integrity. The three-pole, three-wire non-grounding design accepts back wiring with 14 to 10 AWG conductors via a side and external screw pressure plate system. Licensed electricians install this device in applications where a secure, twist-locking connection is required without a standard NEMA configuration.
The 7580 is suited for commercial, institutional, and light industrial wiring where duplex locking outlets are specified. Face color coding by voltage helps technicians quickly locate and mate the correct devices during installation or service. The clearly marked NEMA configuration, current rating, and third-party listing appear directly on the unit face, reducing identification errors in the field. The single-piece solid brass mounting strap eliminates the rivet-based mounting found on competing products, providing a more secure panel mount.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation duplex locking receptacle for commercial and industrial wiring applications requiring a non-NEMA locking, non-grounding, 3-pole, 3-wire outlet configuration.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify the absence of voltage before making any wiring connections. Back wiring connections use the side and external screw pressure plate; ensure conductor insulation is stripped to the appropriate length and wire gauge is within the 14 to 10 AWG range. Verify that the operating environment falls within the rated temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees C before installation.
