The LEGRAND 690-W is a combination duplex toggle switch designed to place two independent single-pole switching devices in the space of a single gang. Rated at 15 amps and 120/277 VAC, it handles both standard residential branch circuits and higher-voltage commercial lighting circuits. Both switches are 1-pole toggle style and share a common form factor with side-wire terminations accepting 12 and 14 AWG conductors. The white finish matches standard commercial and residential walling. Licensed electricians install this device during new construction or retrofit work where two switched circuits must be consolidated into one gang opening.
The 690-W is suited for commercial office spaces, retail environments, and residential applications where two lighting or fan circuits need independent control from one location. Side wiring supports quick termination on standard device boxes. The break-off tab allows either separate feed or common feed wiring configurations, giving the installer flexibility when circuits originate from different breakers or the same breaker. The device meets NEMA WD1/WD6 standards and carries UL 20 approval.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation duplex toggle switch for single-gang device boxes in residential and commercial branch-circuit wiring applications where two independent single-pole circuits require switching from one location.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the branch circuit at the panelboard and verify absence of voltage with a meter before wiring. The break-off tab between the two switch sections must be removed when separate feed circuits are used and left intact for common feed configurations. Torque termination screws per device labeling and confirm conductor insulation is undamaged before securing the device in the box.
