The LEGEND VALVE 101-044 is a full port, manual ball valve designed for 3/4 inch copper pipe systems using soldered end connections on both sides. The brass body and brass trim provide corrosion resistance suited to potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing service lines. A polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seat delivers low-friction operation and a reliable shutoff across repeated cycles. The lever handle allows for quick quarter-turn open and close without tools. This valve is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters in residential and light commercial applications where a durable inline shutoff is required.
This ball valve is suited for copper piping systems where soldered joints are the specified connection method. Typical installations include domestic water supply branch lines, boiler piping, hydronic radiant systems, and mechanical room isolation service. The full port design maintains full pipe bore, minimizing pressure drop through the valve — an important consideration in low-pressure hydronic loops and supply lines where flow restriction must be controlled.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation shutoff valve for 3/4 inch copper pipe systems using soldered connections in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic heating applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before sweating any solder connections. Allow the valve body to cool completely after soldering before operating the handle, as excess heat can damage the PTFE seat. Ensure the valve is in the open position during soldering to prevent seat damage from trapped heat.
