The LDI INDUSTRIES G321-4 is a vented oil-level sight gauge designed to provide a visual indication of oil level in industrial equipment sumps, gearboxes, and lubrication reservoirs. The unit measures 4.25 inches in length and connects via a straight male thread with a 0.5 inch thread size. A Buna-N elastomer seal provides resistance to petroleum-based oils and common industrial fluids. This gauge is typically installed by maintenance technicians and millwrights servicing rotating equipment, compressors, or gear-driven machinery where reliable oil-level monitoring is essential to equipment longevity and safe operation.
The G321-4 is suited for stationary equipment applications where a direct-reading, inline oil-level indicator is preferred over a dipstick or remote gauge. Its straight male thread configuration allows installation into a tapped port on a gearbox housing, pump casing, or reservoir wall. The vented design allows air displacement as oil levels change, ensuring accurate level readings without pressure buildup inside the sight chamber. This gauge is appropriate for both original equipment installations and field replacement of worn or damaged sight glasses.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation sight gauge for industrial gearboxes, pump housings, and lubrication reservoirs equipped with a 0.5 inch straight-thread port and requiring a vented oil-level indicator.
Installation should be performed by a qualified maintenance technician or millwright. Depressurize and drain the equipment reservoir to a safe level before removing any existing sight gauge or plugging a new port. Use appropriate thread sealant compatible with petroleum-based lubricants and confirm thread engagement before torquing to the equipment manufacturer's specification. Inspect the Buna-N seal for proper seating before returning the equipment to service.
