The L H Dottie CO CU10 is a solid copper staple designed for securing low-voltage wiring, coaxial cable, and communication cable runs in residential and light commercial applications. At 0.75 inches wide and 10 inches in length with a 23-gauge wire diameter, this staple provides a secure, corrosion-resistant hold without damaging insulation. Electricians and low-voltage installers reach for copper staples when aluminum or steel fasteners are not suitable for the cable type or environment. Sold individually per unit of measure.
This staple is used in electrical and low-voltage wiring installations where a non-ferrous fastener is required. Typical applications include securing telephone wire, CAT cable, coaxial cable, and similar communications wiring along framing, baseboards, or raceways. The copper construction resists corrosion in humid or damp environments, making it a practical choice for installations in basements, crawl spaces, and exterior-adjacent framing bays.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fastener for securing low-voltage, coaxial, and communications cable in residential and light commercial wiring applications.
Installation is typically performed by electricians or low-voltage technicians in accordance with NEC guidelines for cable support and fastening. De-energize any circuits in the work area before stapling near existing wiring. Use a staple gun or hammer tool rated for the appropriate staple gauge and crown width. Avoid overdriving staples, as deforming the crown can damage cable insulation and void listing compliance.
