The KYOCERA TLC05607 is a solid carbide milling insert designated by ISO code SOMT100420ER-GM and manufacturer grade PR1535. It carries a MEGACOAT NANO PVD coating and is engineered for high-performance face and shoulder milling in demanding materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a positive rake geometry that reduces cutting forces during aggressive material removal. A honed cutting edge style adds edge stability and extends tool life in interrupted and continuous cuts. Screw-type holding secures the insert firmly in compatible toolholders. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.
The TLC05607 is intended for use in CNC milling operations on machining centers across both production and job-shop environments. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary applications cover steel, cast iron, and additional stainless and superalloy grades. The insert belongs to the MFHR series and is compatible with MFH cutter bodies. It is suited to right-hand cutting setups. Machinists and tooling technicians working in aerospace, medical, and energy sectors will encounter this insert in high-feed and standard milling programs where surface finish and edge consistency are critical.
Designed for use with KYOCERA MFH series cutter bodies. ISO code SOMT100420ER-GM and ANSI code SOMT100420ERGMPR1535 confirm fitment within the MFH and MFHR toolholder series for right-hand milling applications.
Installation is performed by qualified tooling technicians or machinists following the cutter body manufacturer torque specifications for screw-type inserts. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not mix insert grades within the same cutter body on a single operation.
