The KYOCERA TKT00995 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual turning applications. Manufactured to ISO code ABW23R5005 and carrying the PR930 grade designation, this insert features a physical vapor deposition (PVD) TiCN coating for improved wear resistance and edge integrity. The insert is right-hand oriented, measures 15.4 mm (0.9213 inches) in length, and presents a 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch) corner radius with a honed cutting edge style. Two cutting edges are available per insert. It is sized at 5/32 inch thickness and belongs to the APBT series. Intended for installation by machining professionals and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is suited for turning operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces, aligning with ISO material codes P and M. Material grades P01, P10, P20, M10, and M20 fall within the applicable range. The positive rake geometry and 45-degree lead angle support efficient chip formation during external turning passes. The chip breaker style is common, making this insert a practical choice for general-purpose turning where consistent chip control and surface finish are required across moderate to light depths of cut up to 0.1650 inches. Installation is performed by qualified CNC operators or tooling technicians.
