The KYOCERA TJU00922 is a CNMG432MS-style indexable turning insert in grade CA6515, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual turning applications. The insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, engineered for thermal resistance and wear performance in demanding cuts. It carries an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. With four cutting edges and a chamfered-and-honed edge preparation, the TJU00922 is intended for licensed machinists and tooling professionals working in production turning environments.
The TJU00922 is engineered primarily for stainless steel (ISO material group M) and superalloys (ISO material group S), corresponding to material grades M10, S10, and S20. Typical applications include external turning, boring, facing, internal facing, and chamfering. The MS chip breaker geometry is suited to moderate depths of cut up to 0.1667 inches in materials that generate stringy or work-hardening chips. This insert meets both ANSI and ISO standards and carries ISO code CNMG120408MS, making it compatible with standard CNMG-style toolholders used across these operations.
Designed for use in standard CNMG432 toolholder pockets conforming to ANSI and ISO mounting specifications. Suitable for turning applications involving stainless steel (ISO group M) and superalloys (ISO group S). The ISO code CNMG120408MS and industry standard number CNMG432MSCA6515 confirm fitment in any CNMG-compatible insert seat of the appropriate size.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and secure with the designated clamp or pin per the toolholder manufacturer instructions before resuming cuts. Do not use a damaged or chipped insert, as compromised edges can affect workpiece finish and dimensional accuracy.
