The KYOCERA TCV08007 is a ceramic turning insert rated for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining environments. Manufactured to VNGA insert style standards, it features an Al2O3 and TiC Megacoat applied via PVD coating process, giving it strong resistance to heat and abrasive wear. The insert has a 35-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a corner radius of 1/32 inch (0.0313 inches). With 4 cutting edges and a maximum depth of cut of 0.436 inches, it suits high-volume production turning where edge life and dimensional consistency are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is designed for external turning, facing, copying, and undercutting operations. Its primary workpiece material classification is hard material (ISO code H), with a secondary classification of cast iron (ISO code K). It carries material grade designations K01 and K10, making it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on hardened steels and cast iron components. The chamfered cutting edge style improves edge stability under interrupted or variable-load cuts. It is compatible with standard VNGA-style insert holders used in CNC lathes and turning centers across both light and heavy industrial applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for VNGA-style turning toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. Industry standard number VNGA332T00825PT600M and ISO code VNGA160408T02025 apply. Compatible with clamp and pin style insert holders accepting VNGA geometry inserts.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the CNC control is locked out before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for debris or wear before seating a new insert. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool operating procedures when handling ceramic inserts, as the material is brittle and can fracture if dropped or impacted.
