The KYOCERA TCV08006 is a ceramic turning insert designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Manufactured to the VNGA insert style with a 35-degree diamond shape and negative rake geometry, this insert uses an aluminum oxide and titanium carbide (Al2O3/TiC) ceramic substrate applied via PVD coating under the PT600M Megacoat grade. It features a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. With four available cutting edges and compatibility with both clamp and pin holding methods, this insert is suited for high-efficiency turning on hard and difficult-to-machine materials.
The TCV08006 is intended for external turning, facing, copying, and undercutting operations. Its primary workpiece material category is hard material (ISO code H), with secondary suitability for cast iron (ISO code K). It is rated under material grades K01 and K10, making it a fit for cast iron finishing and near-finish passes. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO code VNGA160408S02025. Typical applications include CNC lathes and turning centers where ceramic tooling is selected for high cutting speeds on hard or abrasive workpieces.
Designed for use in toolholders accepting VNGA-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and clamp or pin retention. Conforms to industry standard number VNGA332S00825PT600M under both ANSI and ISO specifications. Suitable for multi-use applications including external turning, facing, copying, and undercutting on hard materials and cast iron.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians on CNC or manual turning centers. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications and verify insert seating before resuming cutting operations.
