The KYOCERA TCV02006 is a ceramic turning insert designed for high-speed, high-temperature cutting operations on hard materials and cast iron. Manufactured in a 55-degree diamond (DNGA) geometry with a negative rake and 0-degree relief angle, this insert uses an Al2O3 and TiC Megacoat ceramic substrate applied via PVD coating. It seats in standard DNGA-style toolholders and delivers a 1/2-inch inscribed circle with a 1/32-inch corner radius. The chamfered and honed cutting edge geometry supports consistent chip control across boring, copying, and external turning applications. Installation is performed by qualified machining or toolroom personnel.
This insert is suited for turning hard materials and cast iron in both production and job-shop environments. It carries ISO material grade designations K01 and K10, making it appropriate for short-chipping, abrasive workpiece materials. Typical applications include external turning, copying passes, and boring operations where ceramic cutting performance is required. The neutral hand orientation allows use in a range of toolholder configurations. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, and the industry standard number is DNGA432S00825PT600M.
Designed for use in DNGA-style toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert. Suitable for boring, copying, and external turning of hard materials (material code H) and cast iron (material code K) per ISO material grade classifications K01 and K10.
Installation is performed by trained machining personnel following standard insert-seating procedures for DNGA clamp- and pin-style toolholders. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for debris or damage prior to seating the insert. Follow toolholder manufacturer torque guidance for clamping hardware; do not over-torque the clamp screw.
