The KYOCERA TCV01012 is a ceramic indexable turning insert designed for high-speed material removal on hard materials and cast iron. It carries the PT600M grade designation and uses an Al2O3 and TiC ceramic substrate applied via PVD Megacoat process, delivering thermal and wear resistance suited for aggressive cutting conditions. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 3/64-inch corner radius, and four usable cutting edges. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a chamfered cutting edge style, it is engineered for dimensional consistency across high-volume turning applications. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and CNC tool specialists install this class of insert in production and job-shop environments alike.
This insert is intended for external turning, boring, internal facing, facing, and chamfering operations. It is best suited for primary workpiece materials classified as hard materials (ISO code H) and secondary applications in cast iron (ISO code K). It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation CNGA120412T02025 and the industry standard number CNGA433T00825PT600M. Typical applications include finish and semi-finish turning passes where ceramic grades outperform carbide in surface speed and tool life under dry or minimal-lubrication conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for CNGA-style toolholders accepting an 80-degree diamond insert with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thickness, and clamp or pin holding method. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be brought to a full stop and all energy sources locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut rating for this insert geometry, and verify toolholder clamping torque specifications per the toolholder manufacturer before resuming cutting operations.
