The KYOCERA TCS00811 is a CNGA-style ceramic turning insert engineered for high-speed machining of hard materials. Built from Al2O3 ceramic with a TiC and TiN PVD coating, this insert delivers the thermal hardness and wear resistance required when cutting hardened steels, cast iron, and similar difficult workpiece materials. It features an 80-degree diamond shape with a negative rake angle, four cutting edges, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. Insert length is 0.5000 inches (12 mm) with an inscribed circle of 0.5000 inches. The grade designation is A66N, positioned for material grades H01 and H10. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for external turning, boring, facing, internal facing, and chamfering operations on hard materials in both roughing and finishing passes where ceramic grades outperform carbide. The ISOI series designation and ANSI/ISO standards compliance make it compatible with standard CNGA toolholders used on CNC lathes and turning centers. The ISO code reference is CNGA120404S01525. Applications are focused on hard material workpieces where elevated cutting speeds and minimal tool deflection are priorities. It is packaged individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in standard CNGA-style toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick insert with a 0.2032-inch hole diameter. Compatible with clamp and pin holding methods per ANSI and ISO toolholder specifications. Suitable for material grades H01 and H10 per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians following standard insert-change procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping pin are clean and undamaged before seating the insert to maintain proper edge engagement. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.1667 inches for this insert geometry.
