The KRYLON K09203008 is an oil-based rustproof enamel aerosol spray paint formulated for direct application to bare and prepared metal surfaces. It delivers a semi-flat black finish with corrosion-inhibiting protection suited to both indoor and outdoor environments. The 12-ounce aerosol can covers approximately 25 square feet per can. Touch-dry time is 25 minutes, with a full handle-dry time of 1 hour, making it a practical choice for maintenance and repair work where downtime matters. The comfort-tip valve allows the can to spray in any orientation, reducing hand fatigue during extended use. HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general maintenance professionals use this product for coating metal enclosures, brackets, conduit, and structural components.
K09203008 is designed for use on metal, aluminum, and steel surfaces in residential and commercial maintenance applications. Typical use cases include recoating rusted or bare metal HVAC cabinet panels, electrical enclosures, pipe hangers, structural steel, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous components. The oil-based formula bonds directly to metal without a separate primer in most applications. It performs within an application temperature range of 55 degrees F to 75 degrees F, making it suitable for controlled shop environments as well as outdoor fieldwork in moderate conditions.
Designed for direct application to metal, aluminum, and steel surfaces. Replaces MSC part number 99584195.
Surface preparation is critical for adhesion and rust prevention — remove loose rust, scale, grease, and moisture before applying. Shake the can thoroughly before use and maintain a consistent spray distance as directed on the can label. Apply in a well-ventilated area and avoid application outside the 55 degrees F to 75 degrees F temperature range, as temperatures outside this window can affect cure quality and adhesion. Allow full dry time before reassembling or reinstalling coated components.
