The KLEIN TOOLS 53857 is a knockout punch designed to cut clean, accurate holes for 1-1/2 inch conduit installations. The punch produces a 1.951-inch knockout opening in electrical enclosures, panels, and junction boxes. Electricians and electrical contractors use this tool when adding conduit entries to sheet metal boxes, load centers, and other thin-wall enclosures. The forged construction and precision-machined cutting edge deliver a burr-free hole that seats conduit fittings cleanly without additional filing or grinding. At 0.4 pounds, the punch is compact and easy to handle in tight panel spaces.
This knockout punch is suited for use in residential and commercial electrical work wherever conduit entries must be field-added to enclosures. Typical applications include adding circuits to existing panels, roughing in new junction boxes, and modifying enclosures during service upgrades. It is used by licensed electricians working under NEC requirements for proper conduit support and entry fitting installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard trade knockout punch for 1-1/2 inch conduit trade size applications in sheet metal electrical enclosures and panel boxes.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the enclosure before beginning any punch operation. Drill a pilot hole sized to the draw stud diameter before setting the punch and die. Use a properly rated knockout punch driver or hydraulic punch set to pull the punch through the material — do not exceed the material thickness rating of the punch set.
