The KLEIN TOOLS 3146 is a double-end, straight lineman wrench built for utility and electrical trade work. It is forged from heat-treated steel and finished in a dark blue paint coating for corrosion resistance and easy identification in the field. The wrench measures 13 inches in overall length and features two open ends: one at 13/16 inch and 5/8 inch, and the other at 1-3/32 inch and 29/32 inch. A hole at the larger end allows for tethering or lanyard attachment, which is a common requirement for work at height. Licensed electricians and linemen are the primary installers of this tool.
This wrench is designed for use with 5/8 inch hardware commonly found on utility poles, crossarms, and electrical distribution hardware. The straight profile gives a full range of motion in open-line applications where clearance is adequate. Its double-end design covers four fastener sizes in a single tool, reducing the number of tools a lineman needs to carry on the job. It is sold individually and is suited to both overhead and ground-level distribution work.
Designed for use with 5/8 inch utility and electrical distribution hardware. Suitable for standard lineman applications involving crossarm bolts and pole-line hardware where double-end open wrench access is required.
This tool is typically used by licensed linemen and journeyman electricians working on overhead distribution systems. Always de-energize and follow applicable OSHA and NESC lockout/tagout procedures before working on energized or adjacent structures. Inspect the wrench for cracks or deformation before each use and do not use it as a striking tool. When working at elevation, secure the tool with a rated lanyard through the hole at the larger end.
