The KILLARK GRM is an explosion proof junction box designed for use in hazardous location electrical installations. It provides a robust enclosure for wire connections and electrical terminations where flammable gases, vapors, or combustible dust may be present. The enclosure measures 9.75 inches long by 8.5 inches wide by 7.25 inches deep and weighs 12 pounds. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians install this box in areas classified under NEC Article 500 hazardous location requirements. Its heavy construction contains any internal ignition, preventing the propagation of explosive gases to the surrounding environment.
This junction box is suited for industrial and commercial hazardous location wiring applications including petrochemical facilities, oil and gas processing areas, grain handling operations, paint spray booths, and other environments where explosive or ignitable atmospheres may exist. It serves as a central termination point for conduit runs in Class I and Class II Division hazardous areas where standard electrical enclosures are not rated for use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard hazardous location junction box for industrial conduit wiring systems in NEC-classified hazardous locations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with NEC Article 500 hazardous location requirements. De-energize all circuits and verify lockout/tagout procedures are complete before opening or installing any explosion proof enclosure. All conduit entries must be sealed with listed sealing fittings per NEC requirements to maintain the explosion proof integrity of the installation. Do not substitute standard conduit fittings or non-listed components in hazardous location wiring systems.
