The KILLARK ENY-1-T is a hub-type explosionproof conduit sealing fitting designed to minimize the passage of gases and vapors and prevent the propagation of flames between electrical installations through a conduit system. Built from electrostatically applied powder coated copper-free aluminum, it carries a 1/2 inch trade size with a turning radius of 1-3/16 inches and an overall height of 3-15/16 inches. The fitting accepts both male and female connections and mounts in horizontal or vertical positions. It is listed by UL and CSA and is manufactured in the United States. Licensed electricians and instrumentation technicians install this fitting in classified hazardous locations where conduit seal integrity is required by the NEC.
The ENY-1-T is rated for use in Class I Division 1 and 2 Group A, B, C, and D locations, Class I Zone 1 Group IIA, IIB, and IIC locations, Class II Division 1 and 2 Group E, F, and G locations, and Class III environments. It is suited for industrial facilities, petrochemical plants, refineries, grain handling operations, and other sites where flammable gases, vapors, combustible dusts, or ignitable fibers may be present. In Class II applications, the fitting also serves as a suitable means to prevent dust from entering a dust-ignitionproof enclosure through a raceway that communicates with a non-dust-ignitionproof enclosure.
Designed as an OEM-style sealing fitting for 1/2 inch trade size conduit systems installed in Class I, II, and III hazardous locations per NEC Article 501, 502, and 503 requirements.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician qualified to work in classified hazardous locations in accordance with NEC Articles 501, 502, and 503 and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out all circuits before beginning conduit work. Sealing compound must be applied after wiring is complete and before the system is energized; do not use the fitting as a pull point after the seal is poured. Verify that the selected sealing compound is compatible with copper-free aluminum fittings and rated for the specific hazardous location classification of the installation.
