The KIDDE EDWARDS EGCSVRF is a ceiling-mounted combination speaker and strobe unit designed for fire alarm notification systems. It delivers both audible and visible alarm output from a single device, reducing the number of field components required on a notification appliance circuit. The red housing meets standard fire alarm color conventions. This unit is installed by licensed fire alarm technicians and electricians working on commercial or residential life-safety systems operating under NFPA 72 requirements.
The EGCSVRF is suited for indoor ceiling installations where both audible tone and visible strobe notification are required in a single footprint. Typical applications include corridors, common areas, and occupiable spaces in commercial buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and multi-family residential structures. It connects to a supervised notification appliance circuit as part of a broader fire alarm control panel system.
Designed as an OEM-style ceiling notification device for use on fire alarm notification appliance circuits. Verify compatibility with the fire alarm control panel manufacturer specifications before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out power to the notification appliance circuit at the fire alarm control panel before wiring the device. Verify polarity on the notification appliance circuit before restoring power. Do not install in wet or outdoor locations unless the device is rated for such environments.
