The KEYSTONE THREADED PRODUCTS KU008AC1A182865 is a Precision ACME threaded rod used for linear motion, positioning, and load-bearing applications across mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial installations. The rod measures 72 inches in overall length with a 1/2-10 thread size, meaning a 1/2-inch nominal diameter and 10 threads per inch. It is machined to a 2C thread fit class, which is a standard clearance fit used in most ACME power-screw assemblies. Manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel, the rod offers strong resistance to corrosion, chlorides, and chemical exposure. Installers in trade environments specify this material where standard carbon steel would corrode prematurely.
This threaded rod is suited for applications where corrosion resistance is critical, including marine environments, chemical processing support structures, food-service equipment, pool and aquatic facility hardware, and outdoor HVAC equipment mounting. The ACME thread form is a trapezoidal profile designed for power transmission and linear actuation rather than fastening. The right-hand thread direction is the conventional orientation for the vast majority of drive and positioning assemblies. Plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC mechanics, and millwrights commonly work with this type of rod when building hangers, supports, actuator screws, or custom fabrications requiring a precision threaded drive element.
Designed for use with standard 1/2-10 ACME nuts, lead-screw flanges, and drive assemblies requiring a 2C fit class. Verify thread form and fit class against mating components before installation.
Installation of ACME threaded rod in support or actuation assemblies should be performed by a qualified trade professional familiar with the applicable load and structural requirements of the installation. Cut rod to length using a cutting tool rated for stainless steel, and dress cut ends to remove burrs before threading onto mating hardware. Stainless steel is susceptible to galling when mating components are also stainless; apply an appropriate anti-seize compound to threads prior to assembly. Always verify that the mounting structure and mating hardware are rated for the intended load.
