The KEYSTONE THREADED PRODUCTS KL016AG1F182845 is a 6-foot ACME threaded rod machined from low-carbon steel grade C1018 with a left-hand thread orientation and a 2G fit class. The rod ships with an oil finish applied for corrosion protection during storage and handling. At 14.24 pounds, it is a solid, full-length rod suited for linear motion and power transmission applications where a standard right-hand thread is not appropriate. Machinists, millwrights, and mechanical contractors working with ACME-drive assemblies will find this rod dimensionally consistent with general-purpose ACME specifications.
This rod is used in industrial, commercial, and trade mechanical assemblies where ACME thread form is required for power transmission or lead-screw applications. Left-hand thread direction is specified when the assembly requires reverse-rotation engagement or when paired with a corresponding left-hand nut in a dual-drive or anti-backlash configuration. Typical environments include conveyor systems, jack assemblies, valve actuators, and custom fabricated linear drive mechanisms. The C1018 material grade offers moderate strength and good machinability for on-site cutting and threading operations.
Designed for use in general-purpose ACME threaded assemblies requiring a 1-5 thread size, left-hand direction, and 2G fit class, such as lead screws, jack screws, and linear actuator drive components.
Installation and cutting of threaded rod should be performed by qualified machinists or mechanical tradespeople using appropriate thread-cutting tools and personal protective equipment. Power down and de-energize any equipment before removing or replacing a drive rod in a live assembly. Cut ends should be deburred before installation to prevent damage to mating nuts or drive components. Verify thread direction and fit class of mating hardware before assembly to avoid cross-threading or binding.
