The KEO 955-000-036 is a high-speed steel spotting drill designed to create accurate center-point locations before full drilling operations. With a 0.750 inch cutting diameter and a 90-degree point angle, it produces a precisely sized, clean conical seat that guides twist drills and prevents walking on flat or curved surfaces. The bright, uncoated finish is suited for general-purpose work across a range of common workpiece materials. This is a left-hand cut tool with a 2-flute spiral flute geometry and a straight cylindrical shank. It is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
The 955-000-036 is a single-ended spotting drill intended for general-purpose spotting and center-locating applications on drilling equipment such as drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual mills. Its 0.750 inch straight shank seats directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders sized to match. The left-hand cutting direction makes it appropriate for specific setups where conventional right-hand tools are not suitable, such as reverse-spindle applications or left-hand tapping setups.
Designed as a general-purpose spotting drill compatible with any drilling or milling setup that accepts a 0.750 inch straight cylindrical shank, including standard drill chucks and ER collet systems sized accordingly.
A licensed machinist or qualified operator should secure the shank fully in a compatible chuck or collet before operation, verifying runout before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or adjusting the tool. Left-hand cut tools require confirmed reverse-spindle rotation - verify machine direction before engaging the workpiece. Do not use this tool in a right-hand spindle setup, as doing so will damage the cutting edges and present a safety hazard.
