The KEO 902-000-062 is a solid pilot counterbore designed for producing clean, flat-bottomed recesses that seat socket-head cap screws flush with or below a workpiece surface. Manufactured from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool offers the heat resistance and hardness needed for production environments and harder workpiece materials. It features a 18 mm counterbore diameter, a 10.5 mm standard pilot diameter, and a 12.5 mm shank diameter. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. Overall length is 100 mm. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this tool in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses.
This counterbore is suited for metalworking applications in both job-shop and production settings. It is used wherever socket-head cap screws must be recessed below a part surface, including fixture plates, machine frames, and structural assemblies. The solid pilot design keeps the tool centered on the existing clearance hole, reducing runout and improving recess concentricity. It is compatible with 10 mm fastener size applications and is used by machinists working in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where cobalt tooling is preferred over standard high-speed steel.
Designed for use with M10 socket-head cap screws. Fastener size compatibility is 10 mm. The 10.5 mm standard pilot is sized to fit standard M10 clearance holes.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists using a drill press, knee mill, or CNC machining center with an appropriate chuck or collet matching the 12.5 mm shank. Always secure the workpiece firmly before operation and use a suitable cutting fluid to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Verify spindle speed against manufacturer feed-and-speed recommendations for the workpiece material before cutting. Inspect the pilot for wear before each use, as a worn pilot will cause recess runout.
