The KEO 902-000-054 is a solid pilot counterbore designed for cutting precise, flat-bottomed recesses that seat socket-head cap screws flush or below a workpiece surface. Built from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers strong wear resistance and heat tolerance in production and maintenance machining applications. The tool features a 10 mm counterbore diameter, a 5.5 mm standard pilot diameter for accurate centering, and a 3-flute geometry that balances chip clearance with cutting stability. An 8 mm shank diameter provides rigid tool holding. Machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians install this counterbore in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers wherever clean, accurate counterbore profiles are required.
This counterbore is suited for use on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in both job-shop and production environments. It is compatible with M5 socket-head cap screws and is applied wherever a 10 mm counterbore recess is needed to recess a fastener head. Typical use cases include machine frames, fixture plates, mechanical assemblies, and structural fabrication where a flush or recessed fastener seating is specified. The overall length of 80 mm provides sufficient clearance for most standard setups.
Designed for use with M5 socket-head cap screws. Fits standard drill press, milling machine, and CNC machining center toolholders accepting an 8 mm shank diameter.
Install in a drill press, knee mill, or CNC machining center using a chuck or collet sized for the 8 mm shank. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation and use an appropriate cutting fluid to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Verify the pilot fits freely in the pre-drilled clearance hole before applying feed pressure. Machinists should follow standard shop safety practices and consult applicable machine operating procedures when setting spindle speed and feed rate.
