The KEO 902-000-013 is a solid pilot counterbore designed for precision counterboring operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers reliable cutting performance in a range of ferrous and harder materials. The tool measures 0.314 inches in counterbore diameter with a 0.190-inch pilot diameter and features a straight-cylindrical shank of 9/32 inches. Its 3-flute forward-cutting geometry produces clean, accurate seats for socket-head cap screws. At 4.5 inches overall length, it fits standard drill press and milling machine setups used by machinists and tool and die professionals.
This counterbore is specifically configured for use with Number 10 socket-head cap screws, making it a go-to tool when creating recessed screw seats in fixtures, machine components, and fabricated assemblies. The standard pilot ensures proper alignment with a pre-drilled clearance hole, reducing chatter and maintaining concentricity throughout the cut. It is suited for job shop, production, and maintenance repair operations where consistent counterbore geometry is required.
Designed for use with Number 10 socket-head cap screws. Compatible with straight-shank drill chucks and collets accepting a 9/32-inch shank diameter. Intended for forward-cutting, standard pilot counterboring on drill presses, milling machines, and similar machine tool setups.
A machinist or toolroom technician should secure the shank in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation. Always ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped and the pilot hole is pre-drilled to the correct clearance diameter before engaging the counterbore. Use an appropriate cutting fluid to extend tool life when working with steel or harder alloys. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the tool.
