The KENNAMETAL 7093824 is a DCMT-style carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. It carries the ANSI designation DCMT3252 and ISO designation DCMT11T308, with a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape and a 7-degree relief angle for positive clearance. The substrate is solid carbide coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), assigned manufacturer grade KCU10B. This insert is suited for finishing and light machining operations where consistent surface finish and dimensional control are the primary goals. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production turning, or contract machining environments select this insert for its wear resistance across multiple workpiece material categories.
This insert is intended for finishing and light machining passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The neutral hand orientation allows the insert to be used in standard right-hand toolholders without handedness restrictions. The 0.80 mm (1/32 inch) corner radius suits fine finishing cuts where edge geometry and surface finish control are critical. It fits standard DCMT-compatible toolholders used in both manual and CNC turning centers.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard DCMT3252 / DCMT11T308 toolholders and insert seats. Compatible workpiece material groups include P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), N (aluminum and non-ferrous), and S (heat-resistant superalloys) per ISO classification.
This insert is installed and replaced by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the pocket walls and clamp screw to the toolholder manufacturer torque specification. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for damage or chips before seating a new insert, as debris under the insert will affect runout and surface finish.
