The KENNAMETAL 7077845 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter, 5 flutes, and a 43-degree helix angle, this tool delivers aggressive material removal while maintaining a quality surface finish. The AlCrN coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, extending tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during cut, improving process stability. It is a single-end, right-hand cut tool with a straight shank and long-length classification from the KENNAMETAL UGDE series.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers in both job shop and production environments where extended reach is needed. The long overall length of 5 inches and a 2.5-inch length of cut make it appropriate for deep-pocket milling and cavity work on ferrous workpiece materials. The 0.5-inch straight shank fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks. Typical users include tool and die machinists, CNC programmers, and production machinists working with steel, stainless, cast iron, high-temp alloys, and hardened materials coded P, M, K, S, and H under ISO workpiece classification.
Designed for use in standard 0.5-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and hydraulic toolholders on CNC machining centers. Suitable for ISO workpiece material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (high-temp alloy), and H (hardened materials).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully in the holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. This tool is not center-cutting and is not designed for plunge entry - use a ramping or helical interpolation entry strategy.
