The KENNAMETAL 7026716 is a WNMG433RN KCP25C grade carbide turning insert designed for general-purpose metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. It features a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN applied over a carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert has a trigon (80-degree included angle) shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 3/64-inch corner radius, and an inscribed circle of 1/2 inch. The RN chip breaker geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge suits medium to roughing passes on steel and cast iron. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in KENLOC-style toolholders.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The KCP25C grade is positioned for moderate to heavy cuts where thermal and abrasive wear resistance are critical. With six available cutting edges per insert and compatibility with clamp-and-pin holding systems, it delivers consistent tool life across high-volume runs. The WNMG433RN industry standard designation makes it straightforward to cross-reference against toolholder and tooling catalogs for proper seat and clamp selection.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders that accept WNMG-style inserts with clamp and pin holding. Rated for turning, facing, and boring on steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K) workpiece materials. Industry standard number WNMG433RN; ISO equivalent WNMG080412RN.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamp torque; do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate.
