Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 7026682 is a SNMG643RN square carbide turning insert in the KCP25C manufacturer grade, designed for single-point metal cutting operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN for wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert is 0.75 inches long with a 0.75-inch inscribed circle, a 0.25-inch thickness, and a corner radius of 0.047 inches. With 8 cutting edges and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, it delivers consistent performance across turning, facing, and boring applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in KENLOC-style toolholders using clamp and pin retention.

This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The negative rake geometry and RN chip breaker work well in medium to roughing depth-of-cut ranges up to 0.25 inches. It is engineered for applications where thermal and abrasive wear resistance are priorities, particularly when machining ISO P and K material groups. The KENLOC series designation aligns it with compatible square-insert toolholding systems used widely in industrial machining centers.

Key Features

  • KCP25C grade with CVD multilayer TiN/Al2O3/TiCN coating for extended tool life in steel and cast iron
  • 8 usable cutting edges per insert for maximized cost-per-edge value
  • RN chip breaker geometry supports turning, facing, and boring with controlled chip formation
  • Chamfered and honed cutting edge reduces micro-chipping on entry and exit
  • Clamp and pin insert holding method provides rigid, repeatable seating in KENLOC toolholders
  • Neutral hand orientation fits both right-hand and left-hand toolholder configurations

Compatibility

Designed for use in KENLOC-series square-insert toolholders accepting SNMG643 geometry inserts with clamp and pin retention. Compatible with ISO SNMG190612RN insert specifications. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K).

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct clamp screw torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification and ensure the pin locates properly in the insert hole before clamping. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new edge to maintain runout accuracy.
