The KENNAMETAL 7026459 is a CCMT2151MF-style carbide turning insert in grade KCP25C, designed for precision metal removal in turning, facing, and boring operations. It features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN that provides wear resistance and thermal stability under continuous cutting loads. The diamond-shaped insert has an 80-degree included angle, a 0.2500-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. With a positive rake geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge, it is suited for light to medium-duty cuts on steel and cast iron. CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers.
This insert is intended for screw-on toolholders that accept the CCMT insert style. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO material code P) and cast iron (ISO material code K). Typical applications include external turning, shoulder facing, and small-diameter boring passes on CNC lathes and turning centers. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts at lighter depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.0845 inches. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation CCMT060204MF.
Designed for screw-on CCMT-style toolholders accepting a 1/4-inch inscribed circle insert. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO designation CCMT060204MF. Industry standard number CCMT2151MF. Compatible with toolholders specifying clearance code C, tolerance code M, and a screw-on insert holding method.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value — do not estimate. Inspect the insert pocket and screw threads for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and repeatable tool geometry.
