The KENNAMETAL 7026379 is a CNMG322MN-style carbide turning insert in the KCP25C grade, designed for general turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN applied over a carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability under moderate to heavy cutting conditions. The insert features a neutral hand orientation, a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, and a negative rake angle. With four usable cutting edges, it provides solid value per insert on production turning work. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and metalworking professionals running KENLOC-style toolholders will find this a direct-fit consumable.
This insert is suited for external turning, facing, and boring in both residential-scale job shop and commercial machining environments. The MN chip breaker geometry is intended for use on steel and cast iron workpieces. Primary workpiece material codes are P (steel) and K (cast iron), making this a versatile option for general-purpose lathe work where consistent chip control on ferrous materials is required. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ISO code designation CNMG090308MN.
Designed for use in KENLOC-style toolholders accepting CNMG-style inserts with clamp and pin holding. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring applications on steel and cast iron workpieces per primary workpiece material codes P and K.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Seat the insert firmly against the pocket locating surfaces before engaging the clamp or pin, and verify secure retention before resuming cutting. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before installing a fresh insert. Cutting parameters should be selected based on workpiece material, machine rigidity, and depth of cut within the insert's rated range.
