The KENNAMETAL 7005332 is a replaceable drill tip engineered for use with compatible modular drill bodies in demanding metal-cutting operations. Built from solid carbide in a fine grain grade (KC7325), this tip measures 16.0 mm in cutting diameter and features a 140-degree drill point angle for consistent entry and chip control. The PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating extends tool life when cutting abrasive and heat-resistant materials. A helical flute design with two flutes and two margins supports stable cutting action, while through-coolant capability delivers coolant directly to the cutting zone. This tip is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working in CNC drilling applications.
This drill tip is suited for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. It is designed for use in standard vertical and horizontal machining centers where modular replaceable-tip drills are employed. Application contexts include inclined-exit drilling and stacked-plate drilling in addition to conventional straight drilling. The clamp-style insert holding method secures the tip in the drill body seat size U interface.
Designed for use with KENNAMETAL KTFST series modular drill bodies accepting seat size U replaceable tips. ISO number KTFST16000GTPM identifies the exact tip geometry and interface for body selection.
Replaceable drill tips of this type are installed and changed by machinists or toolroom personnel — power down and lock out the machine spindle before any tip exchange. Use the appropriate torque wrench or clamping tool specified by the drill body manufacturer; do not overtighten or use improvised tools on the clamping screw. Inspect the seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating the new tip to ensure proper contact and runout. Confirm coolant passages are clear before returning the tool to service.
