The insert features an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process over an alumina TiCN ceramic substrate, delivering thermal resistance and edge stability under high-temperature cutting conditions. Key dimensional specs include a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, an insert length of 0.5077 inches, a thickness of 0.1875 inches, and a corner radius of 0.0313 inches. The neutral hand orientation suits both right- and left-hand toolholders. Licensed KENNAMETAL KENLOC series clamp-and-pin holding is the intended mounting method.
This insert is rated for turning, facing, and boring operations and is primarily intended for machining cast iron, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Use proper insert removal tools to avoid chipping the cutting edges or damaging the seating pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping pin for wear or debris before installing a new insert, and verify clamp torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications.
