The KENNAMETAL 6769785 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the KOR5 series, engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The tool features a 1-inch mill diameter, 3-inch length of cut, and a 0.06-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in both roughing and finishing operations. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. Five flutes with a high-helix spiral geometry, right-hand cut and flute direction, and coolant-through capability make this end mill suited for high-material-removal-rate applications where tool stability and heat management are critical.
The KOR5 series is designed for trade and production machinists working in aerospace, die and mold, and general metalworking environments where workpiece materials range from mild steel to superalloys and hard materials. This single-end tool carries a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank with a 6-inch overall length, making it compatible with standard toolholding systems. It is intended for CNC machining centers performing profile milling, slotting, and contouring passes where a corner radius profile is required to meet part geometry or reduce edge chipping.
Designed for use with HC-HSK Form A, HC-CV Form AD, and ER single-angle standard collet toolholding systems. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an E-stop or locked-out state per applicable facility lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a solid carbide tool. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the collet nut or clamping mechanism — do not over-torque. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and that the machine coolant system is delivering adequate flow before engaging the workpiece.
