The KENNAMETAL 6767816 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 0.5 inch diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four right-hand helical flutes at a 36-degree helix angle. The tool carries an AlTiN PVD coating applied by physical vapor deposition, which supports heat resistance and tool life in high-performance cutting environments. It is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can plunge as well as peripheral cut. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in CNC milling applications will recognize this as a short-length, extended-reach configuration from the Kennametal H1TE series, built for both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers where the workpiece material is steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, or other hard materials. The extended-reach geometry with a 2.25 inch reach length and a 0.47 inch neck diameter allows access to features with moderate depth without sacrificing rigidity. The 5/8 inch length of cut is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations requiring a corner radius to reduce stress concentrations at part edges. It is compatible with standard straight-cylindrical end mill holders sized for a 0.5 inch shank.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical end mill holders with a 0.5 inch bore. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Part of the Kennametal H1TE series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the controller is in an idle or locked state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before engaging the first cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear and degrades corner radius geometry.
