The KENNAMETAL 6763679 is a DNMG432MS turning insert in grade KCS10B, manufactured from solid carbide with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating. It features a diamond (rhombic) 55-degree insert shape, a negative rake angle of 13 degrees, and a honed cutting edge style. The MS chip breaker geometry supports roughing and medium machining operations. With four usable cutting edges and neutral hand orientation, this insert is designed for high-efficiency turning on CNC lathes and machining centers. The KCS10B grade delivers high wear resistance balanced with toughness, making it suitable for demanding cutting conditions across multiple workpiece material categories.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), aluminum and non-ferrous (N), superalloys and titanium (S), and hardened materials (H). It is a multi-use insert appropriate for both roughing and medium material removal rates. The KENLOC series designation indicates compatibility with KENNAMETAL KENLOC-style toolholders that use clamp and pin insert holding. Machinists and CNC operators in precision manufacturing, aerospace, and general metalworking will find this insert applicable across a broad range of turning setups.
Designed for use with KENNAMETAL KENLOC-series toolholders that accept DNMG-style inserts secured by clamp and pin holding methods. Compatible toolholders must be specified for negative-rake, 55-degree diamond insert geometry in size code 432 (ISO 150408).
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state before any insert change. Ensure the insert pocket and locating pin are clean and free of debris before seating the insert to maintain proper geometry and prevent premature edge failure. Torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify insert orientation and chip breaker direction relative to the intended cut direction before resuming machine operation.
