The KENNAMETAL 6677059 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for demanding material removal in ferrous and high-hardness workpiece materials. Built on the H1TE series platform, this single-end tool features a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 2.25 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0200 inch chamfer width. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic chatter during aggressive passes, making this tool suitable for both roughing and finishing operations. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops or production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is engineered for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. It performs across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H). The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive engagement in standard end mill holders, reducing pullout risk under high cutting loads. The 5.0 inch overall length accommodates moderate-depth setups without extended-reach tooling.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard 3/4 inch end mill holders or Weldon-style collet chucks. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as specified by the manufacturer for this series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from its holder. Torque the set screw against the Weldon flat according to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cycle, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade surface finish on this geometry.
