The KENNAMETAL 6676455 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. It features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in interrupted and continuous cuts. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 36-degree helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. An AlTiN PVD coating adds thermal resistance and hardness at the cutting zone, making this mill well-suited for dry or semi-dry machining. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace shops, and general machining environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for roughing and finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry and versatile tool paths. The 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard milling chucks and toolholders. Compatible toolholding systems noted in the product data include HC-HSK Form A, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HC-CV Form AD. The short flute length type makes it appropriate for applications where rigidity and minimal deflection are priorities.
Specified compatible toolholding systems include HC-HSK Form A, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HC-CV Form AD. The 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank is the standard fitment requirement for any holder used with this tool.
Installation is performed by a CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an E-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates corner radius wear and can cause premature chipping on hard materials. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and Kennametal published speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and coating class.
