The KENNAMETAL 6676404 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. It features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge and extends tool life at workpiece corners. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry paired with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating enables efficient chip evacuation and thermal resistance. The single-end, centercutting design supports both plunge and peripheral cutting operations. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production and job-shop environments rely on this series for roughing and finishing passes in a single tool.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The H1TE series is built around a submicron carbide grade that maintains hardness and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. It is appropriate for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where precision corner geometry and surface finish are required. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with ER single angle standard collets and TT-SS toolholding systems, making it a direct fit for common spindle setups in production environments.
Compatible with ER single angle standard collets and TT-SS toolholding systems. Designed for use in CNC and manual milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotating cutting tool setups. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is powered down before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or toolholder. Use the appropriate ER collet size matching the 7/16 inch shank diameter and torque the collet nut according to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to protect the corner radius geometry.
