The cutter measures 16 mm in diameter with a 0.5 mm corner radius and a 24 mm length of cut. Four right-hand spiral flutes and a 36-degree helix angle deliver efficient chip evacuation across both roughing and finishing operations. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The straight cylindrical shank matches the cutter diameter at 16 mm, making it compatible with standard hydraulic and collet toolholders. The 6676277 belongs to the Kennametal H1TE series, which targets short-flute, extended-reach applications on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 100 mm overall length with a 48.46 mm reach length and a 15.04 mm neck diameter allows clearance in deeper pockets while keeping the cutting zone close to the holder for rigidity. This centercutting geometry supports plunge entry and full-slot milling. Typical applications include contour milling, profile finishing, and semi-finish passes on hardened components and near-net-shape aerospace or die-and-mold workpieces.
Designed for use with HC 1/2 to HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves inch with metric bores and ER single angle standard collets. The 16 mm straight cylindrical shank seats in any toolholder accepting that shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state.
