The KENNAMETAL 6675697 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the H1TE series platform with material grade KCPM15, this tool carries an AlTiN PVD coating that extends tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials. The 4.00 mm diameter cutter features 4 flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry, improving chip evacuation and reducing chatter during aggressive cuts. At 54.99 mm overall length with a 12.00 mm length of cut, it is sized for precision work in tight envelopes. A 0.40 mm chamfer width at 45 degrees adds a controlled edge-break to finished part geometry in a single pass.
This end mill is suited for roughing and finishing operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Supported operations include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. The centercutting design enables direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. The straight-cylindrical 6.00 mm shank fits standard collet and end mill holders found on CNC machining centers and manual mills running right-hand cutting direction.
Designed for use in standard straight-cylindrical collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 6.00 mm shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H) per ISO material classification. Catalog reference H1TE4CH0400R012HAM.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating; excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces chamfer accuracy. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for collet nut tightening — do not exceed rated clamping force.
