The KENNAMETAL 6525755 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNGQ series, grade KCSM40, designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining environments. The insert carries a dual PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN, which extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. It features a rectangular shape with a positive rake geometry and a honed cutting edge, promoting clean chip formation and reduced cutting forces. With four usable cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, it delivers consistent performance across multiple indexing cycles. This insert is used by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in precision milling operations on ferrous and exotic workpiece materials.
This insert is engineered for milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. It is compatible with the Mill 4-12 cutter series and is held in place by a screw-clamp method. The GE chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during high-feed or high-speed passes. Typical installation scenarios include face milling, shoulder milling, and slot milling on CNC machining centers in production or job-shop environments. The ANSI and ISO code for this insert is LNGQ120608ERGEKT4.
Compatible with the Kennametal Mill 4-12 cutter series. Insert style is LNGQ, insert size code 120608. Designed for right-hand cutter bodies that accept screw-clamp retention of LNGQ-series solid carbide inserts.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified seating procedure when securing the clamp screw - do not overtighten or use impact tools. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for debris or damage before each insert is seated to ensure proper contact and runout control.
