The KENNAMETAL 6388605 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with compatible indexable drill bodies in metal-cutting applications. Built to KTFSS series specifications, this tip features a 0.7500-inch cutting diameter, a 180-degree standard point angle, and a solid carbide construction in fine grain material grade KCP15A. The AlTiN coating is applied via PVD process, providing thermal resistance and wear protection during high-speed drilling. The HPG insert geometry supports chip control in demanding ferrous cutting conditions. This tip is intended for installation and replacement by machinists and tooling specialists in production or job-shop environments.

This replaceable drill tip is suited for drilling steel and cast iron workpieces, covering ISO material groups P and K. Typical applications include straight drilling, inclined exit drilling, and stacked-plate drilling operations. The two-flute, two-margin helical flute design with regular spiral supports stable cutting in both interrupted and continuous cuts. It uses a clamp-style insert holding method and seats in an X-size insert seat.
